Paid Social Traffic on iGaming Offers in Southeast Asia: 42k+ Deposits in 30 Days

PropellerAds - paid social traffic campaign for an iGaming offer in Southeast Asia generating over 42,000 deposits in 30 days.

Would a CPM of $128.95 scare you away? We bet so.

But a high CPM isn’t automatically bad news. At least it wasn’t at all for today’s hero, an iGaming media buyer. He tried out Paid Social traffic in Southeast Asia, and turned that a little bit eyebrow-raising CPM into 42,097 deposits at $13.00 per deposit.

To compare: it’s 9% cheaper than Pop traffic brought over the same 30 days… but let’s take it step by step.

About the funnel

A buyer ran an iGaming offer, with a PWA funnel looking like this: a user sees the ad → goes to a landing page → installs a PWA → Starts using the product.

Our buyer prioritized targeting first-time deposit cost over other funnel metrics and events. In other words, he didn’t care that much about how many clicks or installs there were, but mainly monitored how many people ended up depositing and how much it cost him. With such a strategy, a CPM of $128,95 wasn’t that scary: the bid was set for cheap deposits, controlled by a CPA Goal.

Campaign Flow and Optimization

The buyer tested three countries from the start, and here is what he got:

GEODepositsCost per DepositShare of Volume
GEO 136,504$11.8979%
GEO 24,831$18.7716%
GEO 3762$29.735%

GEO 1 pulled ahead in the first week and stayed the leader for the whole month. GEO 2 was a bit weaker: 4,831 deposits at $18.77 each, and GEO 3 showed the less impressive result: only 762 deposits, at $29.73 each – almost 3 times more than GEO 1.

Once the buyer saw this gap in the first week, he didn’t shut GEO 3 down completely but stopped feeding it new budget and gave that volume to GEO 1 and GEO 2 instead.

Results and Comparison with Pop Traffic

Out of 4.2 million impressions came 42,097 deposits, at $13 each on average. And, as we’ve said in the beginning, it was 9% cheaper than on pop traffic over the same period. Let’s look at the comparison table:

Paid Social vs. Pop Traffic
Metric Paid Social Pop Difference
CPM $128.95 $72.26 1.8× higher
Cost per deposit $13.00 $14.28 9% cheaper
Deposits (30 days) 42,097 37,002 +14%
Deposits per 1,000 impressions 9.9 5.1 ~2× denser

The expensive CPM didn’t get in the way; if anything, the pricier impressions likely meant a higher-quality, more willing-to-pay audience.

Oleksandr Shovkun, Sales Team Leader:

A high CPM can pay off nicely. This campaign’s CPM ran 1.8 times above the pop traffic benchmark, and the cost per deposit still came in 9% lower. One strong GEO can carry the whole campaign. In this case, it pulled ahead from week one and kept the lead the whole month.

Quick Summary:

Paid Social Traffic works because these people are already active on social media, not just scrolling. It means they’re more likely to click and convert.

It worked well here, so it’s worth trying on your own offer too.
