Going Beyond Alexa: The Trendiest Voice-Assisted Funnels To Test Right Now

We’re living in сrazy times: Millennials and Zoomers hate and even dread phone calls, but almost everyone sends voice messages, screams at Alexa, and pays to speak to the new ChatGPT’s voice assistant.
As a marketer, you can’t just ignore it: users search with their voice. And voice search SEO is just a starter pack: you can use voice tech for your marketing in more ways.
To make a long story short, this is a post about voice-assisted marketing and its top funnels, which can boost sales.
How Can You Apply Voice in Marketing?
Or, as users might ask it via voice search – ’What in the world are the voice-assisted funnels? ’
Well, in this research, we’re calling any funnel that uses voice — in any form — a “voice-assisted funnel.” What are these forms? Look:
- Voice search. The most evident one, when a user speaks to Google or voice assistants like Alexa or Siri instead of typing.
- Phone bots. If a funnel requires some contact with a user after they make an order, voice calls from bots can save money on real assistants. They help identify and filter out users who are unlikely to convert before connecting them to a human agent, and they still feel more personal than a written form.
- Voice messages. WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, and many other messengers and social media support voice messages, and marketers are actively using them. A voice with an offer is a popular practice in, say, Telegram, and not just because it seems more real and personal. The trick is that a messenger might become triggered by certain (even innocent) words in your text message and mark it as spam, especially if you practice bulk sending. Meanwhile, you totally avoid it with voices.
- Voice input. Using voice instead of fingers to type in a message or request is popular enough – and yes, you can also try to include this habit in a marketing funnel.
- Voice UX. Some apps recognize voice commands – you definitely saw it at least in the language learning apps, when you get down to a ‘listen and repeat’ exercise.
Fun fact: a new big trend of today is voice chats. These are digital events working like podcasts, especially, which are very popular among affiliate marketers in particular geos.
Why Care About Voice-Assisted Funnels?
WhatsApp alone processes more than 596,6 million voice messages per day. However, as per a 2023 survey, 85% of users in Great Britain still prefer texts over audio messages. Luckily, there are some more motivating stats than this very small bit.
Here is what we found:
- Over 50% of people worldwide use voice search
- 38% of users find local businesses through voice search
- Smartspeakers’ sales made more than $30 billion in 2024
- There are more than 1 billion voice search requests daily
Fun fact 2: One Telegram mini app launched a contest among users: it rewarded them for screaming into their phone speaker as hard as they could. Not a very typical way to go viral, but it worked out and was fun. So, voice tech is literally everywhere and can be added to almost any campaign.
5 Ready Voice-Assisted Funnels To Test
The most evident one is when you think about the best voice search keywords and optimize them. It’s like SEO, but more fun. And it works!
However, we asked the experts and researched to find more options beyond the simple ‘Alexa, where to eat near me?’
Funnel 1: Classical voice search funnel
Best for: local businesses, SEO, gaming, Nutra/Fitness, eCommerce
a user searches with voice → comes to your landing page → goes through the other funnel steps → converts
This funnel uses voice in the very beginning, and it involves considering several factors:
- Voice search optimization. This topic is worth a separate article, but the most important tip is to optimize your keywords in a conversational manner. Here is an example:
- text search: best collagen supplement glowing skin
- voice search: What’s the best collagen supplement for glowing skin?
- Voice schema markup. This is a special script added to your site or landing page that helps search engines better understand your content. It labels content elements (for example, answers or recipes) so that Google can display them in rich snippets or voice answers. In other words, if you set voice schema markup right, Google might read aloud a piece of content from exactly your landing page.
Here is a script example:

- The rest of your funnel. Once a user enters your funnel through their voice search, you need to lead them through the other steps of your funnel. It can be some engaging landing page content, or freebies, or even another voice tech – you can mix this funnel with the others we will show below.
Funnel 2: Lead generation with voice bots
Best for: Nutra, Finance, Insurance, Services
a user comes to your landing page → fills in the contact form → a voice bot automatically calls a user → the bot warms up a user with a couple of yes/no questions → redirects a user to a human assistant → a user converts
The point of this funnel is to better filter the users: only the most interested and engaged leads will reach the final step. Such an approach gives an extra warming up and also automates sales – again, saving time and effort. What’s more, some brands pay for phone leads, not a sale, and such a funnel can perfectly boost your CRs.
Funnel 3. Click-to-call with a voice assistant
Best for: Nutra, Loans, Insurance, Finance
a user comes to your landing page → clicks the Call button → a voice bot automatically answers a call → the bot asks questions → redirects a user to a human assistant → a user converts
This funnel is similar to the previous one, with the difference that users make a call themselves. To make it more complex and profitable, you can also upsell or cross-sell with the help of bots: for example, a bot can ask a user, ‘Would you like to add a phone case to your iPhone 17 order?’

Funnel 4. Voice messages in Telegram
Best for: Gaming, Social Apps, Finance
A user receives a Telegram voice message from a bot → begins a conversation with a voice bot → a bot suggests following the offer link
Here, your ad stops looking like an ad and turns into a friendly conversation. You send a voice message, which already intrigues a user: You usually receive voices from someone you know, right? So, instead of sending a standard spammy message, your bot invites a user to speak as if you are already friends. This approach can be especially warming when it comes to Social apps for matchmaking.
Note: if the bot you use for this funnel recognizes voice input, the chats can become even more engaging for a user.
Funnel 5. Voice Assistant Funnel for Alexa
Best for: e-commerce, mobile apps
A user asks Alexa to recommend a product → Custom Alexa Skill gets activated → recommends a product → sends a link to Amazon → a user orders a product
This funnel is pretty niche, but it can nicely work out for Tier-1 GEOs like the USA, Germany, Canada, or Australia.
The point is that Amazon lets you create custom voice apps called Skills. They respond to voice requests users make to Alexa, and when your Skill recommends an item and a user buys it, you earn affiliate commissions. What’s more, top Skills get free promotion from Amazon.
